Center in Joliet. The theme is Empowering and
Supporting Women for Breastfeeding Success and we have four dynamic speakers
this year. Continental breakfast and lunch are
included and continuing education hours.
Brenda Reyes, RN, CLC Brenda Reyes has worked with HealthConnect One’s Peer Counselor pro-gram since 2001, designing and delivering HC One’s training for breastfeeding peer counsel-ors in low-income neighborhoods across Illinois. A well-respected and knowledgeable breast-feeding advocate, Brenda conducts breastfeeding peer counselor trainings, trainings for front-line staff at health and social service agencies, is a frequent presenter of workshops for WIC and MCH case management staff, and collaborates with a variety of partner agencies to provide effective and engaging peer counseling services for breastfeeding women in Chicago.
Colleen Curry, Doula (DONA), retired LLLLeader Colleen Curry is a birth doula, prenatal educator, and mother who works with OMG Women's Healthcare in Hinsdale as labor and lactation support. Colleen is a retired La Leche League leader, and has held teaching certifications through The Bradley Method and Brio Birth, and is the Program Director for Prenatal University.
Jeanne Cygnus, BS, IBCLC, RLC Jeanne has been working with breastfeeding moms, babies, and their families since 1995. She runs an independent lactation clinic, Cygnus Lactation Services, in Mundelein Il, where she helps moms and babies with all manner of breastfeeding challenges. She also teams up with a Licensed Professional Counselor, Dietician, and Reflexologist to provide complete support for breastfeeding families. In 2009, Jeanne founded LactCorp Solutions, a corporate lactation practice with a focus on providing cost-effective and personalized support for businesses and over 1500 employees each year. Her goal has always remained the same: to help promote and preserve breastfeeding for healthier, happier families.
Lisa Plucinski, RN, MSN, IBCLC, ICCE, CIME Lisa is the Coordinator of Lactation Services at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Liberty-ville, IL, Visiting Professor for Chamberlain College of Nursing, Adjunct Faculty for College of Lake County , and is currently pursu-ing certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Olivet Nazarene University. She is also actively involved in many professional associations. Her communication style and techniques facilitate her interactions with other healthcare disciplines and empowers mothers to have a successful breastfeeding experience. Lisa is the recipient of the 2013 March of Dimes Perinatal Nurse Excellence Award.
